Witness Tree Vineyard is named for an ancient oak tree, which towers over our 100-acre estate. This tree was used as a surveyor's landmark in 1854, bearing witness to the northwest corner of Donation Land Claim No. 51.

As winegrowers, we believe that only by tending our own vines can we produce the finest wines. Low yields in all of our vineyard sites and minimal handling in the winery allow us to create wines of depth, elegance, concentration, and character. Witness Tree Vineyard wines are the ultimate expression of the earth from which they were born.

About Our Soils:
Witness Tree Vineyard is one of the very few Estate vineyards in Oregon that has BOTH Missoula Flood Sediments (in our lower vineyard) and the Volcanic-based Jory and Nekia soils (in our upper vineyard). Since these soils are the "yin and yang" of Oregon dirt, they truly produce the "yin and yang" of Oregon Pinot Noir.
