In the summer of 2005, John & Betty Pataccoli purchased the winery and immediately began a major remodel of the property. The tasting room is fun and informal, the winery has been upgraded and significant improvements to both the infrastructure and health of the vineyard have been made. The results of these improvements are already evident in the improved quality of our wines.

We grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and small amounts of Riesling and Dolcetto. We also have other varietals available for tasting and purchase. We strive to produce small quantities of outstanding yet reasonably priced wines. The winery is family owned and operated with John handling the winemaking and Betty running the business. We currently make 5500 cases.  We welcome visitors to our tasting room 11 – 5 daily year round. Enjoy wine tasting, take in our breathtaking view of the Valley, or picnic in the park. Come and share this beautiful setting with us.

John Pataccoli

Read About Winemaker

John Pataccoli, owner and winemaker at Redhawk Winery, attended Harvard University and prior to buying the winery, spent 20 years in the mutual fund business in Boston, Miami, South America and Los Angeles. An avid wine collector and consumer, he and his wife, Betty, decided to pursue their dream to own a winery, moved to the Willamette Valley, and bought Redhawk in 2005. John took over the day to day winemaking immediately and strives to produce distinctive, reasonably priced wines.

John is currently President, and he and his wife were instrumental in creating the Eola-Amity Hills Winegrowers Association. He also served on the Willamette Valley Wineries Association Board for 6 years, one as President. John has been active on the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce, Travel Salem, and West Salem Business Association Boards.

John grew up in the restaurant business in Rochester, NY, and loves all things connected to food and wine.

Unearth. Uncork. Unwind.
