Cool viticulture climate, care of the land, varietal characteristics that express the vineyard terroir lay a strong foundation for the creation of Stangeland wines. Grapes, handpicked in the cool morning hours, flow to the winery where minimal handling of the wine, gravity feed, quality assurance and attention to detail help to create wines of exceptional quality, taste and affordability.
Currently our wines include international award winning estate grown Pinot Noir and vineyard designated Pinot Noir’s, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay glace. Our tasting room, located in the heart of our vineyard, offers wine tasting and unique gift items including specialty sized bottles of wine, cheeses (from Willamette Valley Cheese Co), chocolates, clothing, wine racks, used barrels, and more.

Robert Lauer
Read About Winemaker
Robert Lauer joined Stangeland Estate in order to oversee the vineyard operations and eventually undertook winemaking duties as well. Robert studied Enology & Viticulture at University of California, Davis. He has made wine in New Zealand, California, and Michigan before landing in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Most recently he was the Winegrowers Assistant at Rose & Arrow Estates. At the core of his philosophy is the belief that the work in the vineyard is crucial to ensuring bright and elegant fruit is brought to the winery to make layered wines with aging potential.

Our Pinot Noir is crafted for finesse, complexity and intensity of flavor and aromatics in four styles: Colette, the most fruit focused of the three red wines, from 100% destemmed fermentations; Ariane, a lighter style red wine with savory, earthy and more tannin, from 100% whole cluster fermentation; Marie-Paule, a blend of two red Pinots styles for added depth and character; and Nicolette, a white wine from Pinot Noir (blanc de noir). All six clones/blocks from the Cortell-Rose Vineyard are used, a key factor in the wines’ quality.
Our Chardonnay is picked early from Royer Vineyard for a bright elegant style with lemon curd richness from neutral barrel fermentation and aging. Both vineyards we source from are dry farmed, and no herbicides or synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used.
